Well, what do you look for in a bike when you want one …. delta frames, disk brakes, Fuel injection and radial tires. But pretty much soon you need to add couple of more stuff into your wish lists.

TVS is one indian company which is working to evolve bikes more than all this. TVS already has one of the finest motorcycles in India in the form of TVS Apache RTR 180 which is not only one of the fastest in production but also upholds the tag of being the best stopper among all the machines produced in its segment in India.

TVS Apache with ABS at Auto-Expo 2010

With all this TVS showed something totally new in the auto-expo 2010. They had showed the new Apache RTR with ABS in the 2010 auto-expo which they are planning to launch soon in India. With this, TVS is also going to load RLP system for rear wheel that protect it to be lift off from road.

Apache RTR ABS, developed in collaboration with Continental AG, Germany (pioneer in chassis control systems for passenger cars and leading bikes like the BMW), is equipped with an advanced Hydraulic-Electronic Control Unit (HECU) and a patented speed sensing technology that continuously monitors the wheel speed of the bike. As the remote possibility of the wheel getting locked, the computer will sense the risk and modulate the hydraulic pressure in the braking system, to avoid an impending wheel lock or loss of control.

ABS: It stands for Anti-lock Braking System. A bike with ABS comes with an advanced Hydraulic Electronic Control Unit (HECU) which is used to continuously monitor the speed of the tires, so as soon as there are chances of wheels getting locked, the computer will sense the risk and modulate the hydraulic pressure in the braking system, to avoid an impending wheel lock or loss of control.

RLP: RLP stands for Rear Wheel lift-off Protection. which is an additional feature apache RTR is providing with ABS. As it must be pretty much clear from the name that this protects the lifting of rear wheel, if in case of emergency front brakes are applied. This is done with releasing the front brake pressure for a moment if the unit senses the real wheel lift.
