Teamviewer, One of the best remote control application. It lets you remotely access and troubleshoot PCs over the Internet / LAN. Team Viewer provides easy, fast and secure remote access to Linux, Windows PCs, and Macs. Free for personal use but have to pay for commercial use, though you can use the trial version there.

There are two ways to install it, either in graphics mode or in terminal mode. Both are explained down here.

Installing TeamViewer in Gnome:

  1. First download the TeamViewer from this URL.
  2. After that, select open with Ubuntu Software Development Center (default).
  3. Once downloading is complete, Ubuntu Software center box will open, just simply press Install.
  4. Now it will ask for your administrator username and password. Provide the same.
  5. Once installation is over, just go over to the Dash Home, and type Team, and you can get an option to open the TeamViewer.
  6. Go ahead and put in username and password.

Installing TeamViewer through terminal:

  1. Open up the terminal.
  2. Download the package through wget.
    # wget "http://www.teamviewer.com/download/teamviewer_linux_x64.deb"
  3. Once downloaded, simply install the package with this command.
    # sudo dpkg -i teamviewer_linux_x64.deb
  4. Once installed, just go to Dash Home and type “Team” and it should be there.

*** For TeamViewer, you need “wine” installed on your machine. If it’s not installed already, please installed it with this command before installing TeamViewer.

# sudo apt-get install wine -y
